Customized Biodegradable Plastic Bags

Biodegradeable_bagWe can do logo plastic bags and not feel guilty, it's okay.  These custom bags decompose in the natural environment.  It is a structure of plastic films that enable microorganisms in the environment to metabolize and neutralize the bags to breakdown naturally.  The bags are available in all sizes from logo doorknob bags to branded large shopping bags.  Unlike years ago the bags are now affordable too, gives us more opportunity to brand a conference eco-friendly.  If the paper bags made from recycled paper won't work, it's good to know we now have an alternative for environmental custom bag ideas.

Popular Custom Promo Item

I admit I'm one of them.  I push open doors with my foot or elbow, I don't hang on to railings unless I have my gloves on, I use my sleeve to open the restroom door on my way out, I wash my hands first thing when I get home...can't help it.  Just seems like such an easy way to avoid getting germs that can get me sick.  I never thought I'd say this, I feel like my Dad but..."I don't have time to be sick".  That's why I'm loving these new custom hand sanitizers.  They are small enough to fit in briefcases, desk drawers and even your coat pocket.  They contain the recommended 60% alcohol to kill germs and are very popular around the world.  The hand sanitizer market has grown in double digits since 2003.  There are jokes about college students not being the cleanest bunch, but this product proves the stereotype wrong.  These mini logo hand purifiers are number one on campuses around the world.Custom_hand_sanitizing_pen_2 There are a lot of possibilities for this product and target audiences:  Moms and Dads, college students, professionals, I can't really think of anyone who wouldn't keep this useful promo item. Of course washing our hands with soap is the best way to go, but if a sink and hot water aren't available...

Feel Good Corporate Gift

I was visiting the accounting firm that does all the work for my company the other day, which for some may not be such a pleasant time.  I'm lucky though.  I finally found a great company that really takes care of me and my company. (Teal Becker & Chiaramonte) I'm always made to feel welcome, spoiled and their number one priority. I was really impressed with a new addition in their warm lobby, on their friendly receptionist's desk.  (No kidding, she is always SO nice!) I wanted to share the idea with you.  It is a digital picture frame, hip, new tech item, and it continuously revolves flashing all the employees photos.  They are all smiling, they're all dressed casual as if just saying Hi!.  I know it's not good to stereotype, but accountant's don't have the reputation of friendly "How you doing?" attitudes.  This frame helps to tell a different story. It made me smile.  I pretty much only work with with Steve and Teri, but to see all the other great people that work there, smiling.  I felt good, I felt comfortable.  So if you're wondering about a great customized corporate gift to give out, or a great customized logo gift for all your corporate locations...a custom logo digital picture frame may be the way to go.  Another custom gift idea may be to send one along to your best client preloaded with photos of their newest building?  Their newest product? Them exhibiting at their latest industry trade show?  They can always reload with their choice photos...but they will always feel good looking at the logo gift and think of you.  Custom_digital_picture_frame

Eco Golf Goes Corporate

So we're not playing golf yet in New York, but corporate golf outings are being planned for 2008 as I type.  Good news my branding friends ~ We can swing green this year!  We now have Logo recycled golf balls and logo biodegradable golf tees.    Environmental_golf_2( Isn't this a great photo? )

The golf balls are 100% green golf balls.  The core consists of 30% biodegradable content and 70 % is created from reconstituteable/renewable material. Bonus ~ the packaging is created from 100% post consumer recycled materials too.  The folks who receive the golf balls can also return the balls to the manufacturer when they've used up their life cycle for a $ .75 credit towards some new green golf balls.  (and the cycle continues... )  I realize too, that when it comes to golf, the ball plays a big part of performance.  These eco-friendly golf balls are no slouches in the game of green.  They've been tested in the market along side some top tour balls and have out-performed. Some special dimple pattern of 392 is one of their claims to fame.

About the tees, look just like the wooden tees we see laying all over the golf course but these are all white and made from the starch of corn and potatoes.  They break down in about a year, which is approximately three times faster than the wooden tees.  We can imprint up to two lines on the tees.  There is a 2.25 inch size and a 3 inch size.

Custom organic golf towel anyone?

Customized Lip Balm

I'm back. Took some time away from the promo gig to hit the slopes with my family.  Great time, great company, great weather, great Vermont ski area ~ Killington.  Killington_2008_003_3 Environmentally friendly mountain too don't you know!  They work hard to balance their growth while taking care of the environment.  "Beyond compliance" is the term they use.  It's great how they recycle their own water. Up to 35,000 gallons per day during peak seasonal periods, which adds up to over 2.5 million gallons annually.  They have also invested big bucks to retrofit 10 of the resort's walk-in coolers with a refrigeration system that taps into the best source of refrigeration there is...winter.  Isn't it funny how sometimes the smartest move is right in front of us?  For sure we're going to see more and more people utilizing nature for what has become life's necessities.  I believe, in the past, we were always thinking better, quicker, faster creating more efforts and not taking energy into consideration. I mean I still love my speedy technology and gadgets which helps me to keep up with fast life ~ can't live without my Blackberry, but it feels good that so many of us are aware now and thinking smaller packaging, use less, natural energy, reuse, etc...

So while it's fresh on my mind (From hanging out on top of a mountain in 19 degree weather) let's talk about a favorite promotional product everyone loves to get: Lip Balm.Cool_lip_balm_2 There is a new style out where your logo goes on the full customizable cap which covers the entire stick.  There is a bonus dome location on the top that you can decorate too. Gives what would normally be considered "Oh just another Chapstick" the "Ooooh, nice one!" factor.   Just the response you want when you hand out a promotional piece with your logo on it.  It has an SPF of 20 and comes in 7 different funky colors.  I also like the natural soy lip balm style with the standard small cap. The container is clear, which gives it an added something, a contemporary feel.  It's petroleum free and you have the option of getting an SPF of 20 or 30.  The clean design holds shea butter, cocoa butter, sunflower oil, aloe vera and vitamin E formula.  Cute right?  Good idea give away healthy, useful and cool.Clearstickimage_2

Custom Water Bottles

You want to do the right thing, but so much to learn...at least that's how I feel.  So I don't want to buy cases of bottled water and I believe that the reusable plastic water jugs are the way to go.  And compared to letting our environment pile up with plastic bottles we refill and feel better.  Well maybe, because now there are questions about the plastic leaking chemicals into our bodies.  In todays paper there is a great article on the subject.  The argument is that refillable water bottles are still the way to go, but steel water bottles are the best to use.  I did some research to find out what we can do to personalize water bottles, or customize steel water bottles.  What do you think of this promotional steel water container?  I like the fact that it can carry over 16 ounces, it doesn't sweat, has a rubber grip, unbreakable, double walled and the top can be securely fastened.  You know those times when the water bottle falls over and leaks everywhere?  Ugh.  This bottle has a push button sipper lid with a locking ring and it will fit in my cup holder. Cool_steel_water_bottle There are styles that hold 24 ounces, that have colored steel exteriors, pull sport tops etc...   Good thing is we're all thinking about it and working towards a safer world.  If you need a corporate gift that says your company is on board, this may be a good start.
