A promotional product should be useful, it should be a representation of your brand, it should be made with the best quality. We found a new promotional item that is all that and will incite some inspiration too. A beautiful new way to doodle and relax while your on the phone. It's a customized Zen Board. It's a small box that opens to an easel that has "magic" paper held within and includes a miniature paint brush. You dip the brush in water and let your creative juices flow. You can use different pressures when applying the brush to the paper to design different looks. Your image is temporary, because in moments it will disappear as the water dries. Frees up the paper to allow design again.
I was reading an article a few weeks ago talking about people who design and most of their days are spent on the computers. It's not often they get to do things with their hands. Some large corporations are sending their creatives to hands on classes, a sort of MacGyver day where they get to physically create. "Creative designers and engineers are rebelling against their alienation from the physical world." Dale Dougherty and executive at O'Reilly Media says "People spend so much time in digital worlds that it creates an appetite for the physical world." The article made me think of the Zen board, a small way to free your mind from digital stress.
It would be a great holiday gift for a creative agency. A conference modeled around ideas would be a nice fit too. I've used mine a few times to sketch my product ideas when I meet with my clients. Helps them to understand what I'm talking about.
Trying our hand at our first video, hopefully will give you a feel for the piece.
