Promotional Awareness Campaigns
Experiences, projects, Brands, turning ideas into feelings, and getting them across in awareness campaigns ~ To the eye, they seem like simple logo products; but they have the strength to emit some powerful feelings.
Custom silicone bracelets have been a big hit for the past 10 years, a huge hit really. Their popularity began with Lance Armstrong and the yellow custom Livestrong wristband. I read an article last weekend stating that over 70 million of these yellow logo bracelets have been sold for the American Cancer Society. It has been their most successful fund raising campaign. Isn't that amazing? You know what I think is really amazing... is how many people benefited from this symbol to gain personal strength during what must've been one of the toughest times in their life.
Go Red for Women has this little red dress lapel pin as their symbol. Heart disease is the leading killer of women, and word has to get out. This creation right away says femininity, heart and fun. It has positive spirit all wrapped into one cute little pin. The movement's tradition is to wear red every year on February 1. You can become involved and get your own cute little red dress pin by signing up on their website. It's great, it's free, will be a reminder to take care of yourself and at the same time, keep your girlfriends in the loop.
I remember my Mom singing the Tony Orlando and Dawn song: "Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree". Who would've guessed this song would help to create such a national symbol? You see this yellow ribbon icon, in magnet form, on at least one in every 20 cars you pass on the highway. It has come to represent those waiting for the return of a loved one. These days it's a symbol we use to represent the longing for our troops to come home.
So you need to create a symbol for your campaign, or your product, or a representation of your Brand, an image for your message...as you can see, it can pack a powerful punch if you do it right.
