Promotional Awareness Campaigns

Custom silicone bracelet Experiences, projects, Brands, turning ideas into feelings, and getting them across in awareness campaigns ~ To the eye, they seem like simple logo products; but they have the strength to emit some powerful feelings.

Custom silicone bracelets have been a big hit for the past 10 years, a huge hit really. Their popularity began with Lance Armstrong and the yellow custom Livestrong wristband.  I read an article last weekend stating that over 70 million of these yellow logo bracelets have been sold for the American Cancer Society.  It has been their most successful fund raising campaign.  Isn't that amazing?  You know what I think is really amazing... is how many people benefited from this symbol to gain personal strength during what must've been one of the toughest times in their life.

Custom lapel pin

Go Red for Women has this little red dress lapel pin as their symbol.  Heart disease is the leading killer of women, and word has to get out. This creation right away says femininity, heart and fun.  It has positive spirit all wrapped into one cute little pin.  The movement's tradition is to wear red every year on February 1. You can become involved and get your own cute little red dress pin by signing up on their website.  It's great, it's free, will be a reminder to take care of yourself and at the same time, keep your girlfriends in the loop.

Custom magnet ribbon

I remember my Mom singing the Tony Orlando and Dawn song: "Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree".  Who would've guessed this song would help to create such a national symbol? You see this yellow ribbon icon, in magnet form, on at least one in every 20 cars you pass on the highway.  It has come to represent those waiting for the return of a loved one.  These days it's a symbol we use to represent the longing for our troops to come home.

So you need to create a symbol for your campaign, or your product, or a representation of your Brand, an image for your message...as you can see, it can pack a powerful punch if you do it right.

Sincere Presents

Custom desk accessory PR 012 This makes me smile.  My friend Millie, who works over at the Fusion Marketing Group came by to visit me yesterday and gave me a present.  I love it.  She picked it up on one of her recent business trips.  Isn't he cute?  Fun, different, colorful, so thoughtful of her to think of me and my logo on her time. I'm in the promotional corporate gift business, it's my job to think up cool gifts for businesses.  I'm not, too often on the receiving end.  So when I am watch out ~ you have me at "I was thinking about you"

This Blog is dedicated to presents.  Maybe I shouldn't say this, since my business is based on selling cool logo giveaway ideas, but sometimes the best way to somebody's heart is with a small thoughtful gift.  Something that really tells them how special they are.  It doesn't have to cost a lot of money.  It just has to be thoughtful.  If you want to melt someone's heart, give them some real thought.  I guess it goes to life's lessons, be a good listener.  People talk about their passions, be sure to be listening. Then when you're out and about, you see something that reminds you of them, or their spirit, or their passion, grab it.  It will really make someones day, week...every time they look at it. It does for me.

My friend Melanie at Skype sent me this funky wine stopper.  I still have it front and center in my office.  I love it so much, I don't want to bring it home.  It is a daily positive reminder for me.  I have sent out a few special presents over the years.  The good feelings can't be duplicated when sincere thought is put in.

Made to Stick Ideas

Last night I was able to hear Chip HeathView this photo speak in the GE iwerks Theater at Proctors in Schenectady, New York.  He is the co-author of the book Made to Stick ~ Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die.  I loved the book and jumped at the chance for my company to sponsor his book signing, thank you CEG.  I wasn't disappointed.  His talk hit home at an important time in my company's evolution.  As I move forward with the new website, working hard to discover our target audience and grow the company, I learned a lot. It's all about ideas. He got me thinking about my approach to get noticed in this busy world.  I wanted to give Chip something to remember my company by, but what do you give the author of a NYT's bestselling book about sticky ideas?  I thought okay, I want to do something that will make him smile.  That celebrates his success.  Duct_tape_award_made_by_absolutepro I built this,View this photo The Sticky Award.  A GE Smart light bulb covered in duct tape, screwed into a socket and then bolted into an unside down octagon shaped electrical box.  Around the box in orange circles is the phrase "SUCCESsful Ideas Stick", which uses the key acronym of his book.  Came out pretty cool and he really seemed to like it.  I didn't want to let him down, a Simple Unexpected idea for him, to thank him for helping me begin to get my company to Stick.  Thanks Chip.

Absolute Promotion's direction has developed so much in the last four years.  As the world embraces technology, many companies have changed in order to adapt to the new technologies.  So in order to better spoil our clients, our services have also evolved. We are depended upon to be the best promotional trendspotters and offer not only the newest products, but the most up-to-date methods of imprinting.

It's go time for customer service.  Our clients have learned to trust that when they work with Absolute Promotions, they can confidently move on to their next task.  They can relax knowing that what they ordered will show up when they need it.  That the branded product's creativity and quality will increase their brands value.  It makes us happy to know our clients rest a bit easier knowing "We're on it."

A new direction brings a new website. I am really happy with the site that Overit.com has created.  I hope you like it too.  My SEO expert, Leslie at BizTechLink says "Get Blogging!  Have fun, share what you know; and what the heck...drive some business to your site!"  As my site readies to launch, my Blog begins... and it begins with some inspiration I received this morning. Lally_logo

Earlier today I attended the fifth annual Entrepreneurial Women's Symposium at www.lallyschool.rpi.edu/wie   The panelists were Ashleigh Cho of www.enterthestudio.com, Kim Su Lloyd of www.brightHub.com and Sunny Oh of www.Google.com  The event is held to celebrate womens roles in technology. I came away from the event ready to write.  I could relate to the stories told of following your intuition, use critical thinking to spot patterns, to practice humility, utilize tools for mobility and as Sunny put it "Nimbleocity" is key.  (A Google term to mean being nimble as well as practice velocity ~ be able to move quick)  These are some of the feelings it takes to be a pioneer/entrepreneur and build a global brand.

I'll be Bloggin from here on out.  My goal is to highlight new promotional trends, new products, marketing ideas, and share some brand building experiences.  I hope you'll tune in and let me know what you're thinking by leaving a comment.
